3PYX has announced Budget iQ 1.0 for the iPhone and iPod touch. The US$0.99 app monitors a user’s financial picture, makes projections, and offers help for deciding whether or not a purchase is affordable.

DifferentApps has unveiled FastCalc 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch users. It’s a $2.99 calculator that allows for copy and pasting of formulas while providing memory storage, expression display and calculating rules.

FogTechnologies has released Snap + Map 1.0 for iPhone devices. The $1.99 app converts paper maps into GPS-enabled maps. Users simply take a picture of a paper map using their iPhone, set two snap points and Snap + Map displays their current location on the map.

Wakeupcall.tv is a new, $1.99 iPhone application that turns an alarm clock into a daily two-minute video newscast set off by a jazzy retro ringtone. The creator and host of wakeupcall.tv, Andrea Jackson, uses a conversational style to deliver the latest eye opening news headlines, including a brief national weather forecast.

AirKast (http://www.airkast.com), which specializes in enterprise-class digital media distribution solutions, has launched customized iPhone and BlackBerry mobile applications for three Max Media LLC radio stations. These branded applications, containing real-time digital media and online content, were developed using TuneKast, a solution designed for terrestrial and Internet-based radio stations and delivered via the AirBridge digital media delivery platform. These mobile applications deliver streaming live radio to their listeners and offer local advertisers several unique opportunities to bring their messages to a mobile audience.

MyWeather has announced MyWeather Lite 3.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. The free app features push notifications for severe weather, animated radar and satellite maps, 12-hour temperature, precipitation and wind trend graphs, seven-day forecasts and current conditions for over 10,000 U.S. and International cities.

TLC IT-Consulting has released MyTasks Pro 2.2.3 for iPhone and iPod touch users. The $6.99 task management app organizes the development, storage and organization of tasks.

MF Software has shipped Top Rated Apps, a free iPhone/iPod touch app that allows you to browse only the highest-rated apps on the Apple App Store, and store favorites for future purchase or reference. Unlike the iTunes App Store, it also lets you browse apps offline. The Top Rated Apps are organized by category.

99 Book Series has rolled out “99 Things You Wish You Knew Before Filling Out Your Hoops Bracket” for the iPhone and iPod touch. Another in their line of “99 Things…” mini-guide books. It offers 99 expert tips for filling out a winning hoops bracket before the NCAA tournament. “99-Basketball” is available for $0.99 . There’s also a free, “lite” version of the app containing nine of 99 total chapters.

288 Vroom has released 100 Sci-Fi Stories Lite, a free sampler version of their popular eBook reader for ithe Phone and iPod touch. 100 Sci-Fi Stories Lite includes such science fiction stories as “The Gods Of Mars” by Edgar Rice Burroughs “The Time Machine” by H.G. Wells.
