Apricorn releases Aegis Desktop storage system

storage, has announced the latest addition to the Aegis suite of
products: the Aegis Desktop, an eSATA/USB 2.0 storage and backup
solution for desktop and notebook computers.

It sports a dual interface and 3.5-inch, 7,200 RPM SATA hard drive.
The Aegis Desktop comes in storage capacities up to 1.5TB. With an
eSATA connection it enables consumers to access their external files
at the same speed as their internal drive, up to 3GB per second.

Epson introduces Artisan printer

Epson America has introduced the Artisan 50, a single function ink
jet printer designed for printing digital photos and everyday
projects. Priced at US$99.99 (estimated street price), this compact
printer lets users print their own images and text onto ink jet
printable CDs and DVDs.

It can also print documents, e-mails and itineraries at print speeds
up to 38 ppm (pages per miniute) in color, and laser-quality speeds
of 5 ppm black and 4.8 ppm color. The Artisan 50 includes Auto Photo
Correction and red-eye removal.

You can save paper with two-sided printing.

TextExpander for Mac OS X improves menu performance, memory usage

a Mac OS X utility that lets users define abbreviations for
frequently-used text strings and images, to version 2.6.2. The
upgrade improves the performance of its menu and reduced its memory
usage in Mac OS X 10.5 (“Leopard”).

Human Software (http://www.humansoftware.com) has updated HSC Edit
for Aperture (Apple’s software for pro photographers) to version
1.7.5. HSC Edit is an edit plug-in to Apple Aperture that offers more
than 4,000 effects to apply on one or a set of images.

Version 1.7.5 is now made of 17 modules that can be purchased
separately or as a whole.
