TechSmith Corp. has announced that Camtasia for Mac will be available
Aug. 25 for download and purchase. It’s an app for creating
presentations, demonstrations, screencasts, training and marketing
videos in HD-quality video to reach audiences online, on Apple
portable media devices, and on popular video sharing sites like
YouTube.

To celebrate the release of Camtasia for Mac, TechSmith will be
offering a special introductory price of US$99 through the end of the
year for a single user license with a full-featured 30-day free

Sonivox announces Aggro Electro Boom for Mac, PC systems

Sonivox (http://www.sonivoxmi.com) has released Aggro Electro Boom, a
virtual instrument plug-in for Mac and PC systems. It’s designed for
contemporary beat creation for hip hop and electronic music
producers.

Aggro is the latest in the company’s “Playa” product family and
carries a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$149 and an
introductory street price of $99. Its user interface allows
integration of midi keyboards and MPC pad controllers, bridging the
gap between MPC style beat creation and the computer-based virtual

Blackmagic Design releases three new mini converters

Blackmagic Design (http://www.blackmagic-design.com) has released
three new mini converters: Mini Converter SDI to Audio, Mini
Converter Audio to SDI, and Mini Converter Optical Fiber.

Mini Converter SDI to Audio de-embeds audio from the SDI input out to
either four channels of balanced analog audio or eight channels of
AES/EBU digital audio. Audio can be switched between analog and
digital audio. SDI input video features a loop-thru output for
connection to other SDI devices.

Mini Converter Audio to SDI allows embedding of audio into SDI video
connections.

Remote Buddy gets updated AJAX Remote

Iospirit has updated Remote Buddy
(http://www.iospirit.com/remotebudd), Mac OS X software for
controlling Macs remotely, to version 1.1.4. The upgrade features a
major update to the app’s built-in AJAX Remote, a web 2.0 application
enabling iPhone and iPod touch users to control their Mac over their
local Wi-Fi network.

Remote Buddy costs US$27.50, though version 1.1.4 is a free update
for registered users. The software is Universal Binary so runs
natively on both PowerPC and Intel Macs.

JNSoftware updates Dialectic telephony tool for the Mac

JNSoftware has updated Dialectic (http://www.jonn8.com/dialectic), a
telephony tool for the Mac, to version 1.4.2. The upgrade adds a Copy
submenu to the Call Log contextual menu to copy the call log entry
data to the clipboard.
It also adds an alternate “Dial Number from Clipboard” menu item.
Additionally, version 1.4.2 updates the Firefox Extension to include
Firefox 3.5 support and fixes an issue with the French localization.
