F-Script update adds system-wide scripting, dynamic Cocoa class

Developer Philippe Mougin has updated F-Script
(http://www.fscript.org), an open-source scripting language
specifically designed for Cocoa (Apple’s object-oriented development
system), to version 2.0. The new version sports such new features as
system-wide scripting, dynamic Cocoa class creation, 64-bit support
and automatic garbage collection.

F-Script provides interactive and scripting access to Cocoa objects
through a graphical environment and a high-level programming model.
It allows interactive exploration, testing and use of Cocoa-based
objects and frameworks.

ION Audio releases Tape 2 PC for Mac, Windows systems

ION Audio (http://www.ion-audio.com) has released Tape 2 PC, an
US$134.95, USB dual cassette player/recorder with the ability to
convert tapes to MP3, for use in iTunes or any iPod, with the
included recording software. No special drivers are needed.

You plug the Tape 2 PC into a computer using the provided USB cable
and install the software. The digital copies of the archived songs
can be transferred to an iPod or other MP3 player.

Tape 2 PC includes EZ Audio Converter for the Mac; it’s software for
converting and recording tapes directly to iTunes.

Blastwave introduces Starter FX sound effects library

Blastwave FX (http://www.blastwave.com), an HD sound effects label,
has released Starter FX, a a new, US$39 downloadable pack of stereo
MP3 files.

It sports 500 sounds spanning categories from Ambiences to Whooshes,
and is designed to offer sound designers all the basics to get
started with any production. Every sound was recorded at 24-bit 96k.
