Epson (http://www.epson.com) has announced four new 3LCD 1080p
high-definition home theater projectors — the PowerLite Home Cinema
8100 and 8500 UB, and Pro Cinema 9100 and 9500 UB.
The Home Cinema 8100 is designed for home entertainment and AV
enthusiasts with a budget in mind. With contrast ratio of up to
36,000:1 and brightness of 1,800 lumens, this projector costs
US$1,599.

Delivering contrast of up to 200,000:1, the Home Cinema 8500 UB
features Epson’s new Super-resolution technology, along with newly
developed real color reproduction, refined frame interpolation, and
UltraBlack technology.

Designed for home entertainment AV elitists, the Pro Cinema 9100
(US$2,599) features contrast of up to 36,000:1 and brightness of
1,800 lumens, as well as real color reproduction, ISF calibration and
color isolation.

The Pro Cinema 9500 UB — which will sell for under $4,000 — offers
installers contrast of up to 200,000:1, Epson’s Super-resolution
technology, real color reproduction and refined frame interpolation
for sharp, clear and vivid images. Plus, it adds anamorphic lens
mode, ISF calibration, color isolation and pre-set color space
selection.

The Epson Home Cinema 8100 will be available in late-October, and the
Home Cinema 8500 UB will be available in November through authorized
Epson projector dealers and select retail outlets. Pricing for the
Home Cinema 8500 UB will be released at that time.
