AKVIS Software has released AKVIS Retoucher plug-in version 3.5
(http://akvis.com/en/retoucher/price-image-restoration.php)for Mac
and Windows systems. The US$87 plug-in allows restoring damages
photos by removing dust, scratches, stains, and by reconstructing the
missing parts of a photo.
The new version fixes bugs and improves compatibility with the
newest versions of Photoshop CS3, CS4 on Macs and PCs. The upgrade is
free for registered users. A demo is available for download.
With AKVIS Retoucher, surface defects such as scratches, water spots,
flakes and stains can be removed automatically; just select the
defects and run the program. Also, the software is able to
reconstruct the missing parts of a photo using the information of the
surrounding areas, so you can restore a torn photo or a photo with
some parts missing.
AKVIS Retoucher is also a tool for improving the composition of your
photos. You can remove date stamps, logos, small irrelevant details
(wires, refuse bins, etc). If you need to increase the canvas size
(from one side or proportionally) to bring the main object into
focus, AKVIS Retoucher will help you to fill the blank areas of the
canvas with appropriate image textures.
