Applied Answers has released FileGenius version 2.0, a feature-level
upgrade to the business-grade, Mac OS X and Windows-compatible
web-based file transfer solution. More upgrades will be released
before the end of 2008, according to Diane Miller, media liaison for
Applied Answers.

All upgrades are instantly applied to all FileGenius customers and
trial users, with no increase in their monthly or annual contract
fees. FileGenius offers a range of web-based file transfer and
management features. Additional version 2 phased releases are slated
for October, November, and year end. Miller says they include
an-integrated Move, Copy, Rename feature, as well as powerful batch
function versions of their current file actions.

By early 2009, Applied Answers promises that full audit features, as
well as a richer set of direct send features, will be available. In
2009, FileGenius will fully utilize Adobe’s AIR technology, blurring
the lines between Mac OS X and Windows desktop applications and RIAs
(Rich Web Applications) like FileGenius.

New features in version 2.0 include the ability to selectively join a
user to multiple workspaces, added workspace management tools,
unlimited file annotations/comments, more ways to view and locate
files. There are also ergonomic improvements to both the File View
and Control Panel management sections.
