QuickerTek today announced expanded compatibility of its Quicky USB Transceiver with USB-equipped Apple desktop computers. Quicky temporarily clips to the top of Apple LCD screens, and the company says it delivers up to ten times more RF (wireless) power than a stock Power Mac desktop. Quicky works with all 802.11/b/g and new WiFi equipment including Apple AirPort and AirPort Extreme, and is compatible with USB and AirPort-equipped PowerBooks, MacBook Pro, MacBooks, iMacs and iBooks. Adobe ships Photoshop Lightroom 1.0

Adobe Systems Incorporated has announced that its has started shipping Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0, software that enables professional photographers to import, manage and present large volumes of digital photographs, helping photographers spend more time behind the lens and less time at the computer. Adobe is offering Photoshop Lightroom at a special introductory price of US$199 through April 30, 2007 at the Adobe Store. Photoshop Lightroom will later sell for an estimated street price of $299.

Steve Jobs criticizes teacher unions

In his speech at an education reform conference, Apple CEO Steve Jobs was critical of teacher unions, reports the Associated Press. Apple compared school principals with company CEOs. “What kind of person could you get to run a small business if you told them that when they came in they couldn’t get rid of people that they thought weren’t any good?” asked Jobs. “Not really great ones because if you’re really smart you go, ‘I can’t win.'” Jobs appeared in a joint appearance with Dell CEO Michael Dell.

SendStation announces Dock Extender for iPod

SendStation Systems today announced the SendStation Dock Extender for iPod. The Dock Extender enables iPod and iPhone users to dock and connect their device with iPod speaker systems and docking stations, as well as FM transmitters and voice recorders, without prior removal of its protective case. Dock Extender is designed to work with all iPod cases with a dock connector opening. A matching Universal Dock insert for easy and secure docking is included. SendStation’s Dock Extender is scheduled for release in March 2007.
