LithiumCorp has officially launched it’s new range of monitoring plug-ins to provide hardware and software monitoring for Xserve (G5 and Intel), Xserve RAID, Qlogic Fibre Channel Switches, Airport wireless base stations (including the new 802.11n units), and Mac OS X Server. These new plug-ins extend LithiumCorp’s network, server and appliance monitoring suite — “Lithium” — to provide a depth of monitoring for these specific products that the company says is not found in any other third-party application.

PDFpen 3.1.1 is released with user-friendly enhancements

SmileOnMyMac has released PDFpen 3.1.1, an update to its PDF editing tool for Mac OS X. The updated version lets users start editing more quickly by remembering zoom level and page position of previously-opened documents. The company also released PDFpenPro 3.1.1, the Pro version which can create PDF forms in addition to all the PDF editing functionality of PDFpen. The updated version of PDFpenPro respects default font size preferences when creating form fields. PDFpen is priced at US$49.95, while PDFpenPro costs $94.95.

Axiotron doubles pen pressure sensitivity for ModBook

Axiotron today announced that it has doubled the pen pressure sensitivity on its ModBook Mac tablet line to 512 levels, offering graphic artists, photographers and other users of applications such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter twice the sensitivity and control of their pen strokes than any other TabletPC on the market, the company says. The upgrade is free and is being rolled retroactively into every ModBook order placed since its introduction, moving first customer shipments to May 2007.

Poll: iPod ownership shows no sign of stopping

The results of a new Web poll survey, conducted by Rock radio consultants Jacobs Media, shows that iPod/personal MP3 player growth continues to be impressive. But iPod owners — in particular — want an FM radio in that next nano or shuffle, notes the survey.
