SmartBackup gets a major update with v2.1

Freeridecoding today announced a major update for its backup tool SmartBackup, an application to backup personal data to hard drives, network sharepoints, webDAV, USB sticks, iPods, etc.. It supports the use of Spotlights (saved searches) as backup items or to define exclusion which makes creating dynamic backups simple. Changes in version 2.1 include: launchable with superuser privileges; improved cleanup and archiving, handling of metadata, and backup to network shares; updated interface; new Automator action; and more.

DEVONtechnologies releases DEVONagent 2.2

DEVONtechnologies today released DEVONagent 2.2, its intelligent Web research tool and alternative Web browser. Version 2.2 allows the user to save the addresses of all currently open Web pages in a “workspace” that can be recalled at any time later. In addition, this release shows the available Web services advertised on the local network through Bonjour in the Go menu, the bookmarks drawer, and gives access to both workspaces and Bonjour services via the Dock menu.
