Fastmac now shipping TruePower PowerBook battery

Fastmac today announced that it has begun shipping its high-capacity, extended life battery upgrade for Apple’s PowerBook Pismo computer. The new 84 Whr battery uses Lithium-Ion cells (with integrated charge indicator LEDs) that provide up to 68% more capacity than the original Apple battery, notes the company. Fastmac’s TruePower battery for the PowerBook Pismo is available now for a special introductory price of US$139.95 and can be combined with a G4 550 MHz processor upgrade for a special bundle price of $349.95 (a $50 savings).

BusinessWeek: ‘Adobe CFO steps down’

Adobe Systems announced yesterday that Randy Furr, the company’s CFO, has stepped down, reports BusinessWeek. “Furr, 52, will stay with Adobe through Dec. 31 to help with “transition matters,” the company said. Adobe, whose products include the Adobe PDF Reader, Photoshop, Illustrator and PageMaker, said Furr’s resignation is “unrelated to his work performed at Adobe and no issues have been raised regarding the integrity of the company’s financial statements.”
