Elgato Systems today announced the next-generation EyeTV software, version 2.0. Apple December quarter sales hit $5.7B

During his keynote speech at Macworld Expo in San Francisco today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said sales for the fiscal first quarter hit US$5.7 billion, exceeding expectations, reports MarketWatch. “The company’s shares rose as much as 7% on the news on heavy volume, touching a new high of $81.89 in afternoon trading,” notes the report.

Enhanced versions of Office for Mac in March

Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit (Mac BU) today announced a formal five-year agreement that reinforces the company’s’s plans to develop Microsoft Office for Mac software for both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs. The Mac BU outlined several upcoming improvements to Entourage 2004 for Mac and Messenger for Mac, and said it plans to build converters to read the new Microsoft Office Open XML Formats.
