Wincent today announced the release of Synergy 2.4, an iTunes accessory that allows users to control iTunes with hot keys and always-accessible menu bar controls. Google leads 2005 brand survey

According to a survey by Brandchannel.com, Google leads the pack as the most influential global brand, notes Macworld UK. “Over the past five years, Apple has won the title twice, in 2001 and 2004, while Google has won the rest of the time. Google Earth, Google Mini, Desktop Search and its popular stock all helped Google win the award in 2005,” notes the story.

OpenOSX WinTel now accelerated for Intel Macs

OpenOSX today began shipping their WinTel 2.0.1 emulator product, now accelerated for the new Intel-based Mac. WinTel is an easy-to-use stand-alone application for configuring and utilizing the included open source “Bochs” software, that allows use of x86/Pentium-based operating systems on Macintosh computers running Mac OS X. This newest edition features Bochs binaries that have been accelerated for the Intel based Macs bringing 200-400% increased performance over the WinTel 2.0.0 release, notes the company.
