Apple offers new iChat AV icons for .Mac members

Apple has made new iChat AV icons available to .Mac members. The company notes: “If you’ve never played around with iChat AV you may not have discovered how easily you can switch among icons when you use the application. We’ve created a page that explains how it works and, as long as you’re a .Mac member, lets you download some distinctive icons to play with. You can use what you download as long as you like, but we can only offer some of the sets for a limited time.

Apple posts new iPod TV spot

Apple has posted a new iPod TV commercial, this time without the well-branded “silhouette” style consumers have come to expect. The new ad, which features the iPod nano, shows a collection of CD covers overlapping each other, only to end with them all being funneled into an iPod nano. The ad ends with “1,000 songs in your pocket.” The advertisement is available to view in QuickTime, and it can be downloaded to your iPod.

Disk Order 2.1 file manager released

LikeMac Group has released Disk Order 2.1 (US$22.57), the latest update to its utility for advanced file management on Mac OS X. New features in version 2.1 include: command buttons for copying, moving and trashing that appear at the bottom of main window and pulldown drives menu, similar to same menu in Total Commander; now every operation in Disk Order has a disclosure triangle with piece of useful information — this gives the ability to, for example, see how much time is left to complete file copying/moving; and more.
