MacSpeech Releases iCal ScriptPak

Salem, NH, 2006-04-19: Macintosh speech recognition authority MacSpeech has
released a new ScriptPak for Apple’s iCal application. The new ScriptPak
installs almost 100 commands into iListen that allow the user to do
virtually anything by voice in iCal they would normally do using keyboard
shortcuts or menus.

“The commands in this set were introduced as part of our Mac OS X
Essentials ScriptPak earlier this year,” said MacSpeech Chief Evangelist

SMS Mac 1.6 released as a Universal Binary

Alco Blom has released SMS Mac 1.6, the latest version of his SMS messaging application. With SMS Mac you can send a text message (SMS) to any mobile in the world. Also available are Send SMS 1.6, the award-winning Dashboard widget, the Send SMS 1.6 Yahoo! Widget for Windows XP and the SMS Mac 1.6 Address Book plug-in. All versions are now Universal Binaries, meaning they run native on Intel-based Macs. Also new is support for email2SMS gateways in the US.

Apple reports revenue grows 34% year-over-year

Apple today announced financial results for its fiscal 2006 second quarter ending April 1, 2006. The company posted revenue of US$4.36 billion and a net quarterly profit of $410 million, or $.47 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $3.24 billion and a net profit of $290 million, or $.34 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 29.8 percent, equivalent to the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 43% of the quarter’s revenue.
