FastMac announces TruePower laptop batteries

FastMac today announced a full line of TruePower Apple laptop batteries. The new high capacity batteries are available for: PowerBook G4 (Titanium and Aluminum), iBook (all models), and PowerBook G3 (Wallstreet, Lombard and Pismo). The TruePower batteries start at an introductory price of US$99.95 and offer up to 56% more capacity than the original, the company says. Select models will begin shipping in the next two weeks and are now available for pre-order on the FastMac site.

Apple offers free Computer Take-Back Program

Apple today announced an expansion of its successful recycling program, offering free computer take-back and recycling with the purchase of a new Macintosh system beginning in June. US customers who buy a new Mac through the online Apple Store or Apple’s retail stores will receive free shipping and environmentally friendly disposal of their old computer as part of the Apple Recycling program.
