AP: ‘Apple Loses Court Bid to Identify Sources’

A story from The Associated Press reports that on Friday, a state appeals court rejected Apple’s attempt to identify Web sites and bloggers who leaded product information, saying the these writers are entitled to the same protections and traditional journalists. “The online journalists are thus entitled to the protections provided under California’s shield law as well as the privacy protections for e-mails allowed under federal law, the court ruled,” notes the story.

QuickerTek upgrades Apple AirPort Base Stations

QuickerTek today announced an upgrade to Apple AirPort Base Stations that will provide up to five times the wireless range at full signal strength than the stock Base Station, the company says. There are two options: either send your Base Station to QuickerTek for the upgrade (US$200), or buy one already upgraded from QuickerTek ($350). This new Base Station upgrade offers 500 miiliwatts (27dBm) of RF (wireless) power.
