Apple says Steve Jobs’ health is ‘robust’

Following rumors of Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ “deteriorating” health, the company has issued a statement saying he is fine, notes Macworld UK. “Many Mac watchers noted that Jobs appeared thinner and somewhat less energised than before. Their observation led many to speculate that Jobs may be unwell. Some pundits voiced concerns based on Jobs’ pancreatic cancer operation of 2004,” notes the story.

Small Tree announces Mac Pro support

Small Tree Communications today announced that it is ready to ship and support its multi-port copper Gigabit Ethernet and optical Gigabit Ethernet cards on the newly announced Apple Mac Pro.  Designed for small workgroup, data center and enterprise installations, Small Tree’s Ethernet cards and drivers provide the I/O performance required by the Intel Xeon 5100 based systems. Small Tree offers PCI-Express Gigabit Ethernet cards today with one or two ports and either copper or optical connections. SmileOnMyMac has released TextExpander 1.4, the customizable typing timesaver tool. The utility, which lets users define abbreviations for frequently-used text strings and images, has been updated to expand the choice of delimiter characters that trigger snippet expansion. The options for import file formats has also been expanded and includes comma- and tab-delimited text files. The update also provides a choice of logos that appear in the menubar, as well as options for sorting snippets by date created or modified.
