Newsday: ‘How iTunes saved ‘The Office”

An article posted yesterday on Newsday.com sheds some interesting light on the pervasiveness of iTunes. Columnist Verne Gay writes about the obvious fact that television networks regularly cancel shows due to declining ratings. He says that a year ago NBC was about to cancel “The Office,” and then along came iTunes. “And then something providential happened. ABC cut a deal with iTunes’ new TV service, and a few hours later, NBC followed.
