PasswordVault v5.1 enhances import functions and cross-platform
auto-distribution

ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA — November 22, 2006 — Lava Software is now
shipping PasswordVault v5.1, a simple and practical enterprise-level
password manager for Windows, Mac OS X (Universal Binary), Mac OS
Classic and Linux(i86). This new version offers powerful import
functions which allow password data to be imported efficiently from
most other password managers, easier updating of runtime keys (for
Std to Pro Edition crossgrades), and enhancements which simplify the
setting up and testing of auto-import and auto-export of password
data (used by the password auto-distribution system). It is a free
upgrade for all users.

Import filters have been added for some specific password managers,
and the custom import filter has been significantly enhanced, making
it possible to import password data from most other password managers
on Windows, Mac OS and Linux. Even exotic data fields can be easily
appended to the ‘Notes’ area of a PasswordVault service, ensuring no
valuable information is lost during the importation process.
Individual users can thus migrate their password data to
PasswordVault and then access it on any computer platform. The custom
import filter also allows groups of users within organizations to
migrate to the PasswordVault cross-platform enterprise-level password
management solution, and subsequently securely and automatically
share and synchronize password data between users across all major
computer platforms.

Standard features in PasswordVault include auto-filling of Web forms
(two-click logins), very strong 896-bit encryption, a unique Master
Password Recovery System (MPRS), random password generator, auto-lock
timer (with clipboard clear), very powerful import and export
functions (for easy backup and transfer), masked passwords, user
defined service categories, editable notes, selectable skins,
detailed reports after portable/desktop sync, and enhanced support
for use in large organizations (The University of Illinois purchased
site licenses of PasswordVault for their campuses at
Urbana-Champaign, Chicago and Springfield in 2004, renewing their
license in 2005 and again in 2006). The portable version (bundled
free with the desktop version) runs directly off USB flash drives and
iPods, providing users with secure access to their data when they’re
on the road, as well as the convenience of auto-synchronization when
they return to their desktop computer.

The new Professional Edition offers additional features for password
management and control within organizations, including secure
auto-distribution (via shared network drives on LANs or via Web
server URLs), secure multi-user password synchronization, and logging
of auto-exports and auto-import service changes. It provides a simple
but powerful cross-platform enterprise-level password management
solution for companies, schools, universities and other
organizations. The auto-distribution system is very flexible. For
example, it can ensure a group of normal users always have the latest
passwords managed by a privileged user, it can keep passwords in
selected categories synchronized between a group of users, or it can
synchronize privileged users and propagate changes to normal users.

For a limited time, small businesses and home users can purchase the
5 user pack of PasswordVault Pro for USD39.00 (normally USD49.00).
Other pack sizes are also available for larger businesses and
organizations, such as the 20 user pack for USD99.00, the 50 user
pack for USD199.00, and the 100 user pack for USD299.00. A site
license for an unlimited number of users is USD499.00. Elementary and
high schools can currently purchase a site license for only
USD349.00, which covers all staff and students at the school for the
use of PasswordVault Pro on all computers at school and at home
(including laptops) and all portable media (USB drives, iPods, etc).
Universities and colleges can currently purchase a custom build site
license with extended student licensing, prelicensing (users do not
need to enter a runtime key during installation) and an optional
custom backdrop for USD990.00.

The free Lite Edition of PasswordVault v5.1 (available for immediate
download from http://www.lavasoftware.com) includes a 30 day trial of
auto-distribution and supports up to 15 services, whilst the Standard
and Professional Editions support any number of services. Individual
licenses of the Standard Edition are priced at USD14.95, and
purchasers get download access to the current version of the software
for all platforms, as well as free upgrades forever. The Professional
Edition is available in multi-user packs and as site licenses for
companies, schools, universities and other organizations. OEM
pricing, customization and rebranding options are available on
request. VAR, ISP and ISV enquiries welcomed.
