Michael Tsai has released SpamSieve 2.5, an update to his Bayesian spam filtering utility for popular email clients such as Apple Mail, Mailsmith, Entourage, PowerMail, and Eudora. The new version offers: lots of changes to the parser and classifiers to improve accuracy, especially for HTML and image messages; in-memory corpus representation is much more efficient; improved the Apple Mail plug-in’s Train as Good script to work around a bug in Mail and training commands; improved accuracy on messages containing misspelled words; and much more. SpamSieve is priced at US$30 and requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later (10.3.5 or later recommended).
