Acertant Technologies today announced that the first public beta of Versomatic for Mac OS X is now available for download. “Versomatic is a powerful version control extension for Mac OS X. It catalogs and archives all file changes automatically in real-time and then allows users to go back and instantly view or restore any past version of a file. Versomatic can even recover previously deleted files regardless of when they were deleted (unlike traditional undelete utilities that only work soon after the deletion takes place). Versomatic’s interface is a model of simplicity and is tightly woven into the operating system. Retrieving earlier file revisions is as simple as right-clicking (or control clicking) on a selected file to reveal a listing of the file’s entire revision history.
