DEVONtechnologies today announced the release of updates for its document and information manager DEVONthink Professional (US$79.95) and for its Internet research agent and alternative Web browser DEVONagent ($49.95). DEVONthink Professional 1.2 comes with a number of new features, most prominently the possibility to use bookmarklets — JavaScript commands added to the bookmarks of a bookmarklet-enabled Web browser, such as Safari or DEVONagent 2.0.2, that perform a function instead of loading a stored Web address. DEVONthink Professional supports two bookmarklets that add a displayed Web page either as link or as Web archive to the currently open database. DEVONagent 2.0.2 passively supports bookmarklets in its bookmarks drawer, such as those of DEVONthink Professional 1.2, and features the same inline advertisement filter that is also built-in into DEVONthink Professional.
