ITOOLS FOR INTEL MAC NOW SHIPPING
Dual G5 Web & Email Performance at a Mac mini price

Santa Barbara, CA, April 27, 2006. Tenon announced today iTools 8.2, with
the latest Apache 2.2.0, for Intel and PPC Macs. iTools 8.2 on Apple’s new
Intel Core Duo Mac mini is a web server with unbeatable price performance
characteristics. The Intel Core Duo Mac mini with iTools yields one and a
half times the performance of Apple’s Apache on a dual-G5 Mac! iTools’
secure, domain-specific, browser-based web administration makes Apache on
Mac OS X the easiest web server in the world to administer.

Apache 2.2.0 has new architectural features resulting in significantly
improved memory and disk utilization, support for files greater than 2GB, a
new database API and new database modules, enabling database applications
to work more efficiently. These and a legion of other improvements
contribute to the faster performance, and, coupled with the blazing Mac
Mini Intel processor, now benchmark Apache at greater than dual G5
performance.

In addition to Apache 2.2, Tenon’s iTools 8.2 now includes mod_perl 2.0.2,
with more compiled functions resulting in faster Perl and faster iTools
management operations, a more efficient mod_fastcgi 2.4.2, leading to a
better experience for standard web requests, mod_ssl 2.2.0, mod_security
1.9.1, a web firewall, mod_deflate, a html compressor that conserves
bandwidth, MySQL 5, with stored procedures, triggers, views and cursors,
PHP 5.11, with upgraded libpq (Postgress), libCurl, openSSL 0.9.8, ming for
Flash movie support, SQLLite, and ProFTP 1.2.10, with support for SSL FTP.
And iTools makes all this a snap to manage.

Tenon’s iTools is an eighth-generation commercial web-based GUI for
configuration and management of the world’s most popular web server. The
open-source Apache web server has roughly a 60% market share, comprising 50
million web sites. With iTools, web-hosting providers can automate hosting
tasks and delegate administration, empowering customers and lowering
support costs. Sub-administrators can manage their own name or IP-based web
sites and view their own logs, without compromising the privacy of the
multi-server machine.

iTools works equally well on Mac OS X ‘client’ or Mac OS X Server and can
be combined with Tenon’s Post.Office mail and list server and WEBmail, a
web-based mail client. iTools, in two separate packages, one for Intel and
one for PPC, is $349. An iTools bundle that includes Post.Office and
WEBmail and one year of support is $999. See the Tenon web site
(http://www.tenon.com) for more details and to purchase.
