Apple to be absent from CES 2005

Apple will not be attending this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which starts on Thursday in Las Vegas. “Scores of companies at CES will seek to chip away at the franchise Apple has created with its sleek hard drives, which can store photos and act as a voice recorder, in addition to being a music player,” reports Reuters. Apple will, of course, have a major presence at Macworld Expo next week, where it is widely expected to unveil a slew of new products.

Jobs ranks first in CEO approval poll… again

Forbes has published its latest CEO job approval ratings, where visitors can vote on the performance of a list of CEOs. Apple CEO Steve Jobs grabbed the top spot once again, with a rating of 94% for December. This marks the 18th time in a row Jobs has made first place. Rounding out the top three for December are Nextel Communications CEO Timothy Donahue and Adobe Systems’ Bruce Chizen, with approval ratings of 87% and 81%, respectively.
