Paul McCartney, Queen, David A Stewart, Jimmy Cliff and Sting are offering four EP tracks exclusively on iTunes. “The 46664 ‘1 Year On’ EP offering 4 tracks specially written for Nelson Mandela’s Global 46664 initiative are now available for download throughout the world excluding Spain. The USA will make the tracks available from January 18th,” reports the Paul McCartney Web site.

Antitrust suit filed against Apple over iTunes, iPod

An unhappy iTunes Music Store customer is suing Apple, alleging the company broke antitrust laws by only allowing songs purchased from the store to only work with iPod, freezing out competitors. “The suit was filed on Monday in the U.S. District Court in San Jose,” reports Reuters. “One antitrust expert called it a long shot, but Californian Thomas Slattery is hoping for unspecified damages for being ‘forced’ to buy an iPod.

Canon announces slew of products at CES

Canon today rolled out nine new products at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Among the new gear introduced are a new line of ZR and Elura Mini-DV camcorders, a new compact photo printer under the Selphy brand, a new Pixma brand compact printer for photos and text printing, and a CanoScan color scanner (pictured at right).
