OWC, PowerLogix offer new PowerCube colors

PowerLogix and Other World Computing (OWC) today announced they have begun shipping new colors of the acrylic PowerCube enclosures for Power Mac G4 Cube computers. The PowerCube is now available in white and glossy black, in addition to clear. The PowerCube offers superior cooling over the original Cube enclosure, and also makes it possible to install a recent video card into the Cube. The PowerCube is compatible with all versions of the original Power Mac Cube, and is immediately available for US$139 through OWC.

Mossberg: iPod shuffle exceeds expectations

In his latest Wall Street Journal column, tech guru Walt Mossberg praises Apple’s new iPod shuffle. “I’ve been testing the new iPod Shuffle for a couple of days, and, in my tests, it fulfilled–and even exceeded–Apple’s claims for convenience, battery life and song capacity. Sound quality is so good you can barely believe the music is coming from something so small,” writes Mossberg. “In my tests, the iPod Shuffle performed well, exceeding Apple’s claims.

‘Out of this world iParty’ tonight in San Francisco

As part of its Macworld Expo festivities, Inside Mac Radio is hosting the “Out of this world iParty” tonight at Club HIDE on 7th Street (@Folsom) in San Francisco. The free party, sponsored by Other World Computing and Macworld Magazine, is open to everyone with a Macworld Expo Badge that’s 21 or older. It will feature DJ Sam Downie from the UK, free hors d’oeuvres and well drinks, beer and wine for $3. The party will also serve as the CD release event for “The Garage Album” by Roger Adler.
