Inventive releases iClip 3.5 productivity software

Inventive has released iClip 3.5, the latest version of the company’s multiple clipboard, scrapbook, and launcher application for Mac OS X. Version 3.5 features a new menu system that moves the main iClip functions from the global menu to a set of menus directly within the iClip window. In addition, the contents of the Clipboard Recorder are now automatically preserved through iClip relaunches and restarts. iClip 3.5 requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later and is priced at US$19.95.

What if Apple had licensed the Mac OS?

In his column for CNET News.com today, Michael Kanellos ponders an alternative history of the technology industry. As part of that report, he questions what would have happened if Apple had originally licensed the Mac OS. “If Apple had given PC makers the right to bundle the Mac operating system into computers, the theory goes, competition would have come to the OS market. Microsoft would not have ever wielded monopoly power, and security would have never been a problem,” he says.
