IconBuilder Pro 5.1 adds Fireworks MX support

The Iconfactory today announced the release of IconBuilder Pro 5.1, the latest version of its professional icon creation utility for Mac OS X. IconBuilder 5.1 “provides Macromedia Fireworks MX users the same level of control over the icon creation process that Photoshop users have enjoyed for so many years.” Version 5.1 is a free update for registered users of IconBuilder 5.0. Registered users of IconBuilder Pro 4.x can upgrade to IconBuilder Pro 5.1 for US$20. New users can purchase IconBuilder for $69.

Ambrosia announces GooBall action game

Ambrosia Software has announced the release of GooBall, a new 3-D action game. “Roll, jump, and slime your GooBall through dozens of fanciful worlds of wonder as you control the cutest little alien around, the Goober. Being trapped in a gooey ball of protoplasm has never been this fun!” GooBall costs US$25 and requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later. Update: MacUpdate has posted a mirror of the game due to overload on Ambrosia’s server.

MacJams.com announces 100+ free Apple Loops

MacJams.com today announced the availability of a free collection of over 100 Apple loops for users of GarageBand and other Apple loop-compatible audio programs. The package was created by Tune Media, makers of Tune-Up for GarageBand, and contains all new loops recorded just for this release. Anyone can register for free and download the loops at MacJams.com.
