Amazon offers $35 rebate on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger [updated]

Amazon.com is offering a US$35 mail-in rebate on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, the next major version of Apple’s powerful operating system. Amazon is selling Tiger for $129.99, so the price will be $94.99 after rebate (including free shipping). The offer is valid until May 31, 2005. No release has been provided by Apple for Tiger, only saying it will be released in the first half of 2005. Update: The rebate has been pulled by Amazon. No reason was given.

Wendland gaga over Apple’s Pages

Mike Wendland of the Detroit Free Press says Apple’s new Pages application is “clean, crisp, very flexible and so easy to use you don’t even need to read the instructions.” “After first being blasé about Pages, I am now gaga over it,” he says. “The more I use it, the more blown away I am by its elegance. Alas, it only works with Apple computers, but with all the people who have been switching to the Mac platform recently, we need to talk about it.”
