Audio Hijack Pro 2.5 brings Tiger compatibility, more

Rogue Amoeba Software has released Audio Hijack Pro 2.5, an update to its audio recording/enhancing utility for Mac OS X. In addition to Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger compatibility, version 2.5 includes smarter timers that alert users to overlaps, as well as being exportable to iCal. Audio Hijack Pro also now offers a “Radio” input option with support for the Griffin RadioShark and D-Link DSB-R100 USB radios, as well as a new “System Audio” input to allow recording of all audio being played.

CompUSA stores to host Tiger events

Like Apple retail stores, CompUSA stores will hold Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger launch events tomorrow nationwide. The stores will be offering Tiger for US$99.99 after qualifying purchase and rebates. CompUSA stores will celebrate the release of Tiger from 6 to 10:00 p.m. with special savings and numerous in-store Apple promotions including: a drawing for a free iPod 1GB shuffle in every store; 12 months free financing on Apple purchases $699 and up; and 10 percent off all Apple branded software and 3rd party Mac software.

Intel, Genentech back Apple in trade secrets suit

Apple has gained the support of Intel and Genentech in its effort to make online publishers (such as the Mac rumor sites it is suing) to disclose their sources of confidential information about unreleased Apple products. The two companies filed court papers in San Jose, Calif., this week supporting a ruling permitting Apple to subpoena the sites and an e-mail service provider. “What happened here wasn’t any kind of protected journalism,” said Steven Hirsch, a lawyer for Genentech.

Delicious Library 1.5 adds Tiger features, more

Delicious Monster Software today announced the release of Delicious Library 1.5, a free upgrade to its application for cataloging and sharing personal libraries of books, movies, music and video games. Version 1.5 adds support for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, including Spotlight support and a new Delicious Library Tiger Dashboard widget (shown right). Delicious Library 1.5 also adds full support for scanning and importing international items, an internally translated interface, and several other features and bug fixes.
