Belkin announces new hubs for Mac mini

Belkin Corporation today announced new USB and FireWire Hubs that offer additional ports and that are specifically designed to stack on top of or below the Mac mini — helping to save valuable desktop space. The Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub (US$34.95) and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and FireWire 6-Port Hub ($49.95) for Mac mini feature front ports that give easy access to USB devices such as thumb drives and the iPod shuffle. Unsanity releases Menu Master 1.3

Unsanity today announced the release of Menu Master 1.3, the latest version of the company’s haxie that allows setting, customization, and removal of keyboard shortcuts for menu items in Mac OS X. Apple releases iTunes 4.8

Apple has quietly released iTunes 4.8. The company has said very little about this new version, apart from: “Tunes 4.8 includes new Music Store features and support for transferring contacts and calendars from your computer to your iPod (requires Mac OS X version 10.4 on your computer).” The software is available for download from Apple’s Web site.

Unmarked software releases TextSoap 4.2.1

Unmarked software today announced the release of TextSoap 4.2.1, the latest version of its powerful text processing utility. Version 4.2.1 is a maintenance release to fix some additional Tiger-related issues that appeared after Tiger’s release. The two specific issues addressed included contextual menu handling in Apple Mail 2.0 and an issue with saved workflows containing a TextSoap 4 Apply Cleaner Action displaying correctly when they were later opened.

MaxMenus and LiteSwitch X updated for Tiger

Proteron today announced the availability of MaxMenus 1.4 and LiteSwitch X 2.5 — incremental upgrades of their popular utilities to provide support for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. The updates, which are free for current owners of the software, can be downloaded from the Proteron Web site. Free, unlimited 30-day trial versions of both MaxMenus and LiteSwitch X are also available.
