Small Tree to release Blaze file sharing system

Small Tree Communications today announced that they will preview Blaze, a new remote file sharing system designed for Macs, during WWDC this week. Blaze offers users the ability to store large data files, such as uncompressed HD video, on a fileserver rather than local to each client and allows clients to access these files at speeds similar to the local disk, the company says. Currently in Alpha development, Blaze is expected to be available in the third quarter of this year.

Hopelore releases iEarTest 1.1 testing software

Hopelore has released iEarTest 1.1, a utility for Mac OS X 10.2.8 and later that allows users to test their own hearing. The software provides screening as a quick check and complete testing for a detailed evaluation at the user’s selected response rate. It evaluates users according to the ISO-8253-1 standard and displays results on a standardized audiogram with international symbols showing the user’s hearing degree and more. In addition, it supports multiple languages in user names and user comments. iEarTest is priced at US$49.
