InforSense BioSense Grid now available for Tiger
InforSense today announced the launch of its integrative analytics platform InforSense KDE on Mac OS X 10.4, and of InforSense BioSense Grid, which the company says is the first service-based high-performance environment for creating and publishing bioinformatics applications, on the Apple Workgroup cluster.

Alien Apparatus Company today announced the release of Solo Performer Show Controller 2.4, the latest version of its system for controlling the background music, lyrics displays, MIDI effects, and light shows for musicians. The system consists of a six-button foot controller that connects to a computer via USB, and software that runs on Windows and Mac. Version 2.4 increases play list flexibility for musicians who improvise their set lists while performing. Solo Performer Show Controller is priced at US$395.

RealNetworks has issued an update to its RealPlayer media software, notes TechWorld. Real says the patch fixes four “exploits” — (1): To fashion a malicious MP3 file to allow the overwriting of a local file or execution of an ActiveX control on a customer’s machine. (2): To fashion a malicious RealMedia file which uses RealText to cause a heap overflow to allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on a customer’s machine.
