Apple opens iTunes Music Store in Japan

Apple, as expected, today announced it has opened its iTunes Music Store in Japan, reports. The Sound Guy releases PlayLyrix for iTunes

The Sound Guy today announced the release of PlayLyrix, an application which searches a user’s iTunes collection and automatically creates a new playlist of all the songs whose lyrics contain specified words or phrases. PlayLyrix can be used to create playlists of songs with lyrics that reinforce a wide range of moods or themes. As an example, for a birthday party one might wish to make a playlist of all one’s songs that have the word “birthday” in the lyrics. PlayLyrix is priced at US$5.00 and requires Mac OS X 10.3.

Daystar ships 1.35 GHz iMac upgrades

Daystar Technology today announced the release of its iMac Flat Panel CPU upgrades. “Daystar is using the latest and highest performing 745x series CPU available, the Freescale 7457. The CPU outperforms any 7457 shipped by Apple, and boasts a large 512 MB internal L2 cache. The large cache allows the iMac G4 to perform at full speed, even without an external L3 cache.” The upgrade is priced at US$548.
