Edmunds offers free automotive video podcasts

Edmunds.com today announced that 21 of its automotive videos are now offered as free podcasts on the iTunes Music Store. The podcasts feature road test reports on vehicles such as the Lexus IS350, the Honda Civic Si, the Nissan Titan and the Porsche Boxster S. In addition, vehicle comparisons include the BMW 330i vs. the Audi A4 and the Mazda MX-5 vs. the Pontiac Solstice. Edmunds.com also announced that Nissan became its first podcast advertiser, developing a 15-second “teaser” advertisement that introduces Edmunds.com’s video podcasts.

BW: ‘Apple May Be Holding Back The Music Biz’

A commentary column on BusinessWeek today looks at Apple’s influence on the music industry with its iPod and iTunes success in recent years. The report quotes a number of industry insiders who feel that the company’s proprietary technology and its refusal to offer more ways to buy music are hindering legal sales of digital music. “The villain in the story is the iPod,” says Chris Gorog, CEO of Napster.
