Fujitsu unveils Mac-compatible scanner

Fujitsu today unveiled its first scanner compatible with Macintosh. The Fujitsu ScanSnap scanning solution supporting Mac OS X version 10.4 allows users to convert paper documents to Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files that can be organized, shared and protected.  In addition, the scanner features Fujitsu ScanSnap 50-page automatic document feeder (ADF).

Belkin announces TuneBase for iPod shuffle

Belkin today announced TuneBase for iPod shuffle, a flexible neck that positions an iPod shuffle in a vehicle. While mounted in the TuneBase, an iPod shuffle powers and charges simultaneously. It also features a 3.5mm line-out for use with the Belkin Cassette Adapter (included) or TuneCast II FM Transmitter (not included) for high-quality audio through a car stereo. TuneBase for iPod shuffle is expected to ship in November for US$39.99.

LaCie announced credit-card sized USB drive

LaCie today announced a credit-card sized USB key dubbed the LaCie Carte Orange. The new drive offers 4GB or 8GB of storage capacity and is powered by an integrated USB connector, which can be plugged into any USB-equipped computer. Carte Orange’s USB 2.0 connectivity interface delivers transfer rates of up to 480Mbits/s and offers an optional USB extension cable for computers that require a longer cable. The drive can also be re-formatted to fit specific needs.
