HDV Production with Portland Filmmaker’s Group

Our friends at the Portland Mac Filmmakers’ User Group let us know that their October meeting will feature a look at High Definition Video (HDV) Production using both the Sony HVR-ZIU video camera and HDV Post Production Workflow with Final Cut Studio software. Special guest Darin Ingram of Grounded 4 Life Productions will screen his latest HDV project. After the screening, Darin will field questions about his experiences using the Sony HVR-Z1U and Final Cut Studio for post-production. The meeting takes place October 27th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. PT.

Warner executive talks of ‘cutting off’ Apple

Michael Nash, a digital strategy chief at Warner Music said at the CTIA Telecomms Show that “”What if Jobs says 39 cents or 29 cents per download — what then? The industry can say, okay, we’ll cut him off — very few people buy music from digital downloads,” notes an article on The Register. “But he put the responsibility for Apple’s dominance of paid digital downloads on the labels’ own inertia,” notes the story. “The industry got together and said ‘We don’t want another MTV’.
