the immediate availability of a new update for Catalog, 1.2.2.

Catalog 1.2.2 introduces numerous bug fixes, such as issues with the order
of indexes not being saved, problems indexing certain incomplete files.

improvements to the indexing engine.

Apple UK offers free Mac guitar music seminars

Apple UK is conducting a series of free seminars on using guitars with Macs, notes Macworld UK. “The company will show how applications such as GarageBand or Logic can be used with guitars, highlighting the huge number of guitar and amplification effects available to users of such applications.” The seminars take place at MacExpo 2005, Olympia, London, October 29; Music Live, NEC, Birmingham, November 5, and The Hub, Castlehill, Edinburgh, November 28.

Sinbad 1.0, a Web searching application designed to “simplify Web browsing and information retrieval,” has been released. Sinbad includes 18 modules for finding country facts, song lyrics, famous quotes, drug information, books, song albums, Amazon’s items and more. Version 1.0 adds localizations for German, Dutch, Japanese and Chinese; a new German to English translation module; several bug fixes and more. Sinbad 1.0 requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.
