A report on Forbes today notes that UBS Investment Research said its recent checks abroad revealed solid demand for notebooks and a promising outlook for Apple. “In short, our meetings were very positive for Apple into year-end and next, in terms of potential new iPods and possible build plans,” said the firm. “We also believe that our findings track our expectations for PC growth of 12% this year and 9% next, including notebook unit growth of 26% this year–as contacts expect normal seasonality with solid laptop demand despite market concerns about fuel prices.” In addition, UBS said it expects iPod sales to top 10 million in this quarter.
