ASANTE EXTENDS MULTIPLATFORM SUPPORT TO MAC OS X 10.4 TIGER

LACP and Other Performance Features Now Supported

May 24, 2005

San Jose, California, May 24, 2005 — Continuing its effort to support
multiplatform networking, Asante Technologies, Inc. (ASNT.PK) today added
support for its Gigabit switches on Apple’s new operating system, Mac OS X
10.4 Tiger.

Because of this support, Asante Gigabit switches now provide access to
Tiger’s more than 200 new features and innovations, including Spotlight,
Dashboard, and iCHAT AV.

“We especially tested our Gigabit switches in conjunction with Apple’s new
Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), failover, and load balancing
features,” said Y.C. Wang, Director of Software Engineering at Asante,
“because we know how important this is to our customers. A switch’s
performance will increase about 50% with LACP enabled.”

The following Asante Gigabit switches support LACP on Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger:

IC35516-T. 16-port 10/100/1000 L3 switch; 4 combo 1000T/GBIC.
