Other World Computing has announced a 72-Hour Mac mini upgrade service that allows users to boost the RAM, hard drive, or optical disc drive options on their new low-cost Mac. The $99 program includes installation of as many as three upgrade options, and FedEx overnight pickup and return. OWC’s Mac mini internally installed upgrade options include: 1GB DDR Memory Upgrade Module for $129;5400RPM and 7200RPM hard drives with 60GB to 100GB storage from $119 that are up to 43.8 percent faster and 150 percent higher capacity than stock 4200RPM factory options; and an 8x DVD-R SuperDrive for $149.95, which is twice as fast as the stock option SuperDrive and has Dual Layer DVD burn support.
