Microsoft co-founder and chairman Bill Gates said Wednesday that the iPod has been “a great success,” but doubts the claims made by Wired earlier this month that the majority of his employees use the Apple player. In an interview with ABC News anchor Peter Jennings, Gates also made it clear that he is not an iPod owner. “I’m not an iPod user,” Gates said. “I use the Creative Zen which is a fantastic product.” When asked about the article on iPod use at Microsoft headquarters, Gates said: “Well, I doubt that’s the case. Certainly, the iPod’s a great success,” but Microsoft is “providing choices” to consumers.
