Attendance decline behind Macworld venue change

Several years of declining attendance and a soured relationship with Apple left the east coast Macworld Expo too small for the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the Boston Globe reports. Attendance at this year’s show was just over 8,000, compared with 50,000 in 1997. “Based on feedback that we have, the show in its current size is not big enough” to fill the new center’s exhibit hall, said Warwick Davies, group vice president at IDG World Expo.
