PiXiMation 3-D QuickTime VR application debuts

Kaidan today announced PiXiMation, a new application that creates 3-D rotational QuickTime VR object movies without the need for specific hardware. PiXiMation uses advanced image processing techniques to generate properly spaced and indexed image frames from a variety of video sources, such as the Apple iSight. The Mac OS X software creates and saves QuickTime VR movies as well as individual still image files. PiXiMation is priced at US$99.95.

RadTech on Monday announced three new products at Macworld Expo. The MacTruck notebook case is a professional-grade enclosure “designed to be the most rugged and functional” case available for both transporting and using the latest Mac notebooks. The US$199 case provides notebook protection “even under the most severe conditions imaginable” and is available in 3 colors: Brushed Aluminum, Aqua and Deep Red. EZQuest to debut dual-format DVD-/+ FireWire drives

EZQuest will introduce two dual-format DVD-/DVD+ external FireWire drives at Macworld Expo this week. The Boa 8x writes to DVD+R and DVD-R media at 8x; DVD+RW and DVD-RW at 4x; CD-R at 24x; and CD-RW at 10x speeds; and it reads DVDs at 12x and CDs at 40x speeds. The super-small Boa Slim drive comes with both FireWire and USB 2.0 ports, and Mac authoring and backup software. It weighs less than a pound and measures 6×5.5x.75-inches. Pricing was not available.
