Maxtor offers OneTouch FireWire drive update

Maxtor has announced a software update that allows its OneTouch FireWire external storage drive to become a boot drive on the Mac OS. “With the OneTouch drive, Maxtor marries speed, storage, backup and ease-of-use in one product. iPhoto, iMovie no longer free downloads [updated]

With the introduction of iLife ’04 today, Apple has quietly removed the download pages for iPhoto and iMovie. Presumably, the two applications will no longer be available as free downloads. Instead, they will now only be available in the US$49 iLife ’04 suite, which bundles full versions of iPhoto and iMovie along with the new GarageBand, iDVD and iTunes. iLife will continue to be free with new Mac purchases.
