UK’s Channel 4 reports iPod battery issue

A news story on Channel 4 in the U.K. last night reported on the issue some users are having with their iPod’s battery. “The iPod, by Apple, can cost anywhere from £250 to £400 pounds – but now some users are finding that replacing the battery is so expensive, it’s not worth the bother,” notes the report. Apple Europe recently said, however, that it plans to offer iPod owners AppleCare packages and a battery replacement program soon.

Information Appliance Associates has released PocketMac Smartphone Edition, a new solution to allow Mac users to synchronize data between their Mac and a Microsoft Smartphone. The US$28.88 software lets users synchronize iCal, Entourage, and their OS X Address Book. It also has integration with iSync, and iTunes and iPhoto support. In addition, PocketMac Smartphone Edition offers support for Bluetooth wireless synching, and gives users the ability to install 3rd Party Software and Smartphone themes.
