Tryout versions of Boris FX products offered

Boris FX has made available tryout versions of Boris FX 7, Graffiti 3 and Continuum Basics. Developed for users of Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects, the tryout versions can be purchased via electronic software download for US$199, a $50 savings over the boxed versions. Boris FX 7 is an integrated effects creation that lets you add unlimited layers of media and preview effects with audio in real-time. Graffiti 3 is a vector-based titling package. Continuum Basics is a collection of over 30 filters from the Boris Continuum Complete plug-in suite.

Script Software updates products

Script Software has new versions available of three of its products: CopyPaste-X 2.0 (in beta), Project Timer and iKey. All are Mac OS X compatible and cost $20 each. CopyPaste-X is a multiple clipboard editing and display utility. Project Timer is time tracking software designed especially for lawyers, graphic designers, independent professionals, consultants and others who need to monitor the time spent on various tasks.

TiVo Desktop gets iPhoto 4 support; still no AAC support

TiVo Desktop 1.6 is the latest version of the software for TiVo’s Home Media Option, which lets users automatically stream music and photos from their Mac (via iTunes and iPhoto) to a TiVo Series2 DVR for listening/viewing on a TV. Version 1.6 adds support for the recently introduced iPhoto 4. However, the software still lacks support for AAC audio files, including songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store.

Denmark MacFest to kick off March 12

MacFest 2004, the large event for danish Mac-users, will be held in Aarhus, Denmark March 12-14. According to the organizers, there will be competitions in iMovie, Flash, Photoshop, Formz, Strata, Cinema 4D, Maya, and GarageBand. There will also be a gaming area set up to play Warcraft, StarCraft, Medal of Honor, Return of Castle Wolfenstein, and more. In addition, workshops for iMovie, Final Cut Express, iTunes, GarageBand, iPhoto, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Maya, and Flash are planned.
