InDesign CS PageMaker Edition now available

Adobe has started shipping the InDesign CS PageMaker Edition software (see related story), an InDesign CS extension to help PageMaker users transition to the newer layout and design package. The new release includes a full version of InDesign CS and a PageMaker Plug-in Pack that includes designer templates, keyboard shortcuts and training materials. Customers who already have InDesign CS can download the PageMaker Plug-in Pack directly from Adobe.

OmniWeb 5 public beta now available

As expected, The Omni Group has released the first public beta version of OmniWeb 5.0, a major new update to its Mac OS X Web browser. Highlighted new features include a tab drawer, saved browsing sessions, updated bookmarks, page marking, improved shortcuts, site-specific preferences, and more. The final version is expected to be available in March for US$29.95. Upgrades to v5.0 from previous versions will cost $9.95.

Image Info RB 1.0.6 adds REALbasic 4.0 support

Kanzu Utilities has released Image Info RB 1.0.6, a REALBasic class for developers whose wish to retrieve information about images. REALbasic developers can use Image Info RB in their applications to retrieve almost any known property of an image (more than 20 file formats supported) including its dimensions, color mode, layers, channels, clipping paths, fonts, quality, eps halftone screen, and EXIF and IPTC info. Version 1.0.6 adds “original date” and “digitized date” to returned EXIF Info and adds compatibility with REALbasic 4.0.
