Default Folder X adds refinements, bug fixes

St. Clair Software has released Default Folder X 1.9.3, an update to the tool that enhances the Open and Save dialogs of Mac OS X-native applications. The Mac OS X 10.3 Panther compatible upgrade offers a variety of refinements and bug fixes. For example, Default Folder X’s hierarchical menus are faster and more responsive, all of the options for click-to-copy are back, and various compatibility issues have been fixed. Version 1.9.3 is a free update for registered Default Folder X users; for others, the cost is US$34.95.

Two new Canon printers on the way

In addition to new and revamped digital cameras, Canon has also introduced two new printers. The i9900 desktop photo printer is targeted to consumers, photo enthusiasts and working photographers. The 13 x 19-inch inkjet printer features new red and green ink cartridges, 4800 x 2400 dots per inch maximum color resolution, microscopic two-picoliter ink droplets, and FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces. The i9900 will be available in May at an estimated list price of US$499.99.

Canon revamps digital camera line

Canon has made several enhancements to its digital camera line. The company has introduced two new and enhanced PowerShot point-and-shoot digital cameras: the US$299 3.2-megapixel PowerShot A75 and the entry-level $199 3.2-megapixel PowerShot A310. The Canon ELPH line has been expanded with three new models: the PowerShot S500 (a $499, five-megapixel model), the S410 (a $399, four-megapixel camera) and the SD110 (a $299, 3.2 megapixel model).
